Any one who loved this movie have recommendations?

I absolutely loved this movie ... it was the perfect blend of action, comedy, and satire ... you never really knew if they were trying to have an exciting action scene or just be super super cheesy and thats what I loved about it. Does any one have any suggestions on similar types of movies?

aka ... semi cheesy (not over the top cheesy) either action, sci fi or comedy

let me know, i would love to find another diamond in the rough like this one.

I don't know if you know it or not brendan5, but they made a sequel in 2006, TNT will be re-airing it 02/24/07, and it is also available on DVD (Blockbuster does carry it).

thanks, but yeah i knew there was a sequel ... I've seen it and i didn't think it was as good. I was hoping though for other movie recomendations ... different movies that people liked.

I just really liked this movie and was curious what movies people with similar interests liked.

Galaxy Quest is a hilarious film that pokes fun at sci-fi action/adven. genre. It definately does not take itself too seriously. And i even think the characters come off pretty believable; which, I think is impressive considering how silly this movie is willing to get.

I was very surprised at how funny it was when i first saw it. From the adds it looked really chessy. But, when i saw it, i realized that was intentional:)

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but as a kid I liked King Solomon's Mines (1985). I thought it was funny they used the mines in the second one of these, but it was totally different anyway.

The obvious answer would be the Indiana Jones movies. Also, there is the new Librarian movie coming out this year... here is a list of other films with similar plot devices/themes.

If you like animation, The Adventures of Tintin is an excellent entry in the Action Adventure - Search for Treasure genre. It came out in 2011 and is seriously underrated. It's based on several of Herge's graphic novels for adolescents, including The Treasure of the Unicorn.
