How DARE anyone compare this crap with Indiana Jones??

The Indiana Jones movies are high quality entertainment, with good acting and good action scenes, whereas the Librarian is a stinking pile of garbage that should have never seen the light of day!!!! The acting is bad, the plot is horrible, and the special effects should be renamed into anything-but-special effects. Blurgh, I say. Blurgh!

Ah, but THIS film has a Librarian.

Everyone please calm down.

This film is what Indiana Jones would have looked like on about 1/10 of the budget. It has the same sort of relationship with the Indiana Jones movies as the Superman TV show did with the Superman movies.
Even my 10 year olds could see where they used green screen, but they still laughed & enjoyed it. I did too.
I think on what was obviously a very small budget the producers managed to get a lot of bang for their buck. Well done.
Looking forward to seeing the sequels.

I liked the Librarian movies. I love a good laugh and the fact they made it like a spoof of the Indy movies was even better. You do know that Harrison Ford is getting older. And with that there will be no more "Indy Movies" Who will take Ford's place or will there be someone out there to take his place like all thoes 007 movies. How many Bonds have there been? Hopefully, there will be someone out there who can step in and take over where Ford leaves off. But of course, sometimes the actor who steps in will never be as good as the first Indy.

reply

Ok! You obviously did not "get" this movie! It was never meant to be Indiana Jones and the ANYTHING! It was a SPOOF!!!! And to top it off, a tv movie with the budget of about 1/10 that of the Indi movies! Perfect - no! Entertaining - Very!! And that's what it was suppose to be!

reply

It's great fun. Don't take it too seriously and don't compare it with Box Office Blockbuster types like Indy. It's not what it is supposed to be.

reply

This movie is made to be funny, not seriuos. and it completely fills its role, as a parody of indiana jones.

I don't think the OP sees the humor in the Indiana Jones movies, so there is no way they could see the humor in a parody thereof.

reply

I have come up against this line of reasoning a number of times, but I fail to see how this movie could possibly be considered a parody of Indiana Jones. In my book, a parody satirizes a work that takes itself too serious, but the Indiana Jones movies are all about having a lot of tongue-in-cheek fun; they certainly do not take themselves serious, and therefore there is nothing about them that can be "cut down to size" or parodied. I think the correct term here would be "rip-off", done very good-naturedly and in a spirit of great fun as well, but still a rip-off.

Oh do calm down OP - your vividDreams are getting you all worked up over nothing.
And mascisman, I believe this is not a parody of the Indiana Jones movies (you're thinking of Temple of Doom and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), The Librarian series is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the first and third Raiders movies - and thoroughly enjoyable escapist fare. Kudos to Noah Wylie and team!

The script, the acting, the jokes, were so bad that firstly I thought it is a parody of Indiana Jones. Then I realised that this is serious attempt to make an adventure movie. What a waste of money.I am sure this kind of rubbish you can find only in old VHS video stores in suburbs.
To make myself clear,I never was fan of Indiana Jones either, not even as a kid(my hero was Sandokan), but this movie is simply awful.

You are a sad person, why compere this film to any Indy film, and if it comes to that l saw Indy type films in the 1950's at the Sat morning films thats where Spielberg got his ideas from so nothing is new, why not just see a film for what it is entertainment and nothing more...

reply

ok

1) why would anyone compare this to Indiana Jones on ANY basis?? I mean thats like comparing Superman and Batman. The only thing they have in common is being Super-heros. The only thing these movies have in common is archaeology.

2) Why would you call it "crap"?? Why because you didn't like it???? Well it thats the case EVERY movie is going to be crap because somewhere, someone is going to say "The acting is bad, the plot is horrible, and the special effects should be renamed into anything-but-special effects." about one of any movie you think of whether it Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, Ghostbusters, Batman. Superman or any other movies. Whether its Horror, Adventure, or anything else.

Finally you know what I think? I Think with the exception of YOURS, everyone has an equal opinion yours though? not so equal. Yours is a stinking pile garbage that should never be heard!!!! How's that feel?
