Suitable for children?

Since it's not rated, I cannot tell if it's suitable for my kids to see. How is it as far as language and/or sexuality goes?

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, its too dark to read.

There's nothing really graphic about it. Some sex seen through a window at a distance (no nudity), marijuana use, a girl takes off her clothes (again, no nudity is shown) and pees on herself. SOME harsh language, but I don't recall a lot. It seems kind pf PG-13y.

I don't think it's a good film AT ALL to show to children. They'll never get anything out of it, it's way too in-depth and weird, and there may be some frightening images in it (the recurring dream/vision, boy in coffin, boy dead on his bed, etc). I thought it was a great movie, but children won't appreciate the excellent acting or the underlying themes.

It's for adults. It's just not their kind of thing, trust me. They won't appreciate the speed at which it moves either.

I would have to agree with vega 37, this movie is not a good film for children, that doesn't mean it isn't appropriate for some children, but there are probably many other movies children could see before this movie. BTW, I think my parents took me to see Ulysses when I was like 10-12. Now, there is a movie that is not necessarily suited for children.

What about the movie appeals to you? is it that falconry aspect?

For some parents the most controversial thing about this film would be that it shows cannabis smoking twice in the film, without moralising about its use. The language is fairly mild.
