Don't judge by the dvd cover. . . .

When I rented this I got the impression from the cover that it was like a family type film or something more lighthearted than it was. I'm a Paul Giamatti fan and was expecting something with the atmosphere of American Splendor or even The Lady in the Water. I felt this movie was very interesting amd worth watching but much of it is intense, gloomy, stark and grim--although it does have an uplifting ending and the camera shots of the hawk are beautiful. The smiling pictures of Paul Giamatti and Michelle Williams on the cover belies what much of the movie is really about. I felt it was a good movie but just an FYI.

Well, it does have the word "Dying" in the title... I haven't watched it yet, but I'm expecting sadness, just from that...
