I also need a copy of this. If anyone could tell me how to acquire one, I would be so very thankful.
The only thing I can think of is to keep checking ebay for bootlegs. I went on the distributors site for the film, but they charge hundreds of dollars for copies.
i ended up driving down to DC (at the time i was living in Philadelphia) to see a one time only screening of it at the National Gallery in March (i think) and taking a ton of notes in the dark that were almost barely legible when i got back. I needed it for my disertation, Which i did fantasticly on btw, have you found anything more recently.
Still not found a copy and I have no idea of how I'll ever see it. No UK distribution either.
sharei JUST got a copy right now from my school's library if that matters?
shareIt's alright. I saw it via the Kino dvd when it came out. I hope you enjoy it. The documentary's not that great but the subject matter is.
shareI'm doing an extra credit assignment on it, i'm surprised how damn fast you replied since no one's posted in here in months
share;) The reason I responded so fast was because you can set your account to e-mail you when someone replies to one of your posts. Before I set my account to do that I used to be really confused when the same thing happened lol.
Is your assignment on this documentary in particular or the subject matter that it looks at?
Oh really? ha! I need to check these things out more. So how was this movie anyway? I don't know if i'll really understand it
shareThe film's OK, could have been better. You'll understand it but unless you have a knowledge of French cinema and film culture it might be hard to enjoy as much.
Why did your college decide to set this film for the assignment? Or did you choose it?
Well i take a Cinematic Expressions class at SUNY at Purchase college in New York and they was just this random French Film Festivle at the end of the Month and my professor liked both of the movies so much that she offered both as extra credit if we did a film review on it. The other one was Irma Vep.
