Has anyone taken the Brideshead Revisited tour offered at Castle Howard?

Im going there in July and am very curious as to what it's actually like.

Ill have to go to oxford too then - im planning on spending two days in york too, so im glad it's interesting!

Oh, I love York! I live a couple of hours north of there and often go for a day trip, or to visit friends.

As for Castle Howard, I went there when I was a bit younger and loved it. My family loved going to see old stately homes. We didn't do a Brideshead Revisited tour, but I did buy a little teddy bear with 'I Revisited Brideshead' on a sash. (The original miniseries was shot there too.)

You've got to admit, I am very British. I don't pronounce HARD 'R's

Had a tour of Castle Howard a couple years ago and it was wonderful. Beautiful building rich with detail and magnificent grounds too. Best part was staying at the Black Swan Inn in a little town called Helmsley not far away. It was a classic English hotel.

I couldn't agree more. Even the drive out was breathtaking. I spent an entire day there from open to close and couldn't have been happier.
