Always in awe of the Britishness

I'm a huge fan of British artistic productions - be it music, film, fine arts etc., and this film is spot on to my taste! There's something about the places in England and the way they silently tell stories, and the people's stories that never seem to end. British surely know how to express things and communicate the universe without sharing too much. Living in London for three years has completely changed my life in a way that I don't seem to be able to get it out of my system til I die, and I somehow wish I were born there so I could stay forever. I have experienced many of Charles's circumstances in different ways, from middle-class inferiority complex, confusing unrequited feelings, to huge attachment to places I've not known before and the desire to go back to the way things were. Just like Charles's longing for Brideshead, it hurts knowing that the beautiful youth has ended and you'll never experience those moments, those people and places ever again. I think this film is a good metaphor for life in general and the fact that summer is not always.
