Well, Suzanne,

To be honest you are not missing anything. The direction of the movie is amateurish, the main actor is as bad as it gets, the plot is linear and extremely predictable - I really had a hard time to make it through the movie without turning off the tv. To be fair, Diego Infante does a good job but far from saving this movie.

I have to partially agree with Caetano.
It isn't a bad movie, it's just disappointing since it could be a lot better...it has a really good story. For me the problem is with the lead actor Andreas Wilson. Ok, he is cute (there's no doubt about that), so it's nice to see him on screen but there's no "passion" in his acting. Same goes to Emma Griffiths Malin, who is even worse. She had such a nice character to play, full of ambiguity, and she just pass the image of someone a little retarded...for me it was one of those characters that you're always expecting something else. Well, but in this case I don't know if it's really an interpreting thing or a core problem with the character construction.
On the other side, Diogo Infante almost can save the movie being so brilliant in his role and giving the intensity that the story demands. This is something really worth to watch. I also liked the interpretation of Juliet Van Kampen (Maria Nielson), she also brought something different to the movie.
