Molly

they should make one about molly. even thought she was a dork sort of , she was the only one i read all the books too. so i know everything about her. i loved felecity and samantha. not a big fan of addy. what about Kirsten/Chirsten? remember her? i think she was one. I don't like Kit. She was the feature doll all the time.

I have the American Girl Today doll. Light skin, dark brown hair, light brown eyes. I remember changing her name from time to time. I still play with her! Her name is Emma. I hope they make a Josefina movie soon.

I have American Girl of Today. Her name is Rikki (I wish I had named her Annie or Emily) but Rikki's always stuck!

From inside sources I know that they are making a movie about Molly next and there will be an Emily doll to go along with it. Just to let ya know ;)

I hope this is true! Molly is my favorite, and I'd love an Emily doll!

I like Molly, Addy, Samantha,Felicity and Kit. I like all American Girls, but their stories keep me awake. I hope they make Kit next after Molly. She's a very strong girl and is into journalism like me. Molly wears glasses like me. Addy is African American like me. Samantha and Felicity were my first dolls.

I'm 95% sure Molly will have the next movie.

Now 100% sure: http://curtdanhauser.com/AG_Collecting/Viewgraph13_Huge.jpg

I loved the American Girls when I was younger! I have Molly and always loved her stories. Sheesh, I remember when there were only 5 American Girl dolls and adding Josephina was a huge deal. And American Girl was done by Pleasant Co. I'm pretty sure Pleasant Co. no longer exists and that A.G. is run by somebody else (once the change was made, A. G. became very different).

reply

You're correct. Pleasant Rowland sold Pleasant Company to Mattel sometime around 1997 for a multi-million dollar figure. At the time, one of the people on the board at Mattel also shared her views for quality versus commercialism and other aspects of how the company should be run, but she was soon fired. Rowland also served on the board at Mattel for a short time, but left soon after that colleague was fired. I guess that one benefit we can enjoy from the commercial aspect Mattel added to the company is these movies. Unlike a lot of changes to the AG dolls' collections, at least the movies are good!

(edit: oh, and it's spelled Josefina, not Josephina, lol!)

They ALREADY made movies for both Felicity and Molly, you sillies. As nice as Molly is, I'd prefer movies about Addy and Kirsten; they had some of the most exciting and heart-wrenching stories. Still, Molly's great fun and her era is lovely, but she's already got a movie.

Haha, whitespirit26, the original poster posted this back in 2004.
