New Baby?

What? They fired the baby? Unless I'm crazy, baby "Sarah" has been replaced. That baby in the 2nd episode is not the same as the one in the first episode.

I noticed the new baby also... actually, there were two different babies in the episode. I hope they get a permanent baby soon. It's kind of distracting!

Honestly the first baby wasn't that cute

It just TICKS me off to no end that they switched the original baby!!!!!!! They should have ironed out ALL the kinks before the show even made it's debut! Both babies are cute, but I guess BABY#1 was TOO ETHNIC for their cast. The first baby was a BETTER match and more believable for Taye's character! Do they think we're idiots out here in tv-land and wouldn't notice the switch??????? Goes to show you as we ALL SHOULD know, RACISM even within the minority community is VERY MUCH STILL ALIVE AND WELL! Unfortunately, the switch left a VERY bad taste in my mouth and I no longer watch this "JOKE" of a so called show!

It's not only the babies in the show that makes me upset, it's also the ethnicities of the women that are in the show. Not once have I seen a beautiful brown-skinned African-American woman in the show. All of the women that Kevin likes are either Mulatta, Latina, or Caucasian. That's my main problem with the show. Other than that, I think that Taye Diggs is a good actor and it's a well-produced show, but hello, I'd like to see some more women of color on the show! No wonder young boys, think that Mulatta, Latina, or Caucasian women are the defintion of beauty, it's because of shows like this and music video by r&b artists and rappers, that they have been brain-washed with this way of thinking.

Also, just to let you know, I'm not hating on Latinas, Mulattas, or Caucasians, because women are beautiful in any ethnicity or race, but I just wish they would show some more brown-skinned and dark-skinned sisters on the show!

You're totally right! Another thing that gets me is how come Kevin Hill doesn't have any black friends? He's living in NYC but has NO black friends...yea ok!

I agree with you.

The issue is not against any other races, but it is VERY strange that a black man in NYC has no black friends and has only no black love interests.
Black America has waited too long for a SERIOUS series, instead of the buffoonery that has dominated for years.
Taye Diggs should stand up.

If Diggs is dark skinned and it's his cousin's baby, the possibilities are
better that the baby would be dark too.

This racial issue has bothered me for awhile.
It is an indictment of the white power brokers of the TV industry and the
personal prejudices of white viewers.
If a show is entertaining, why can't they cast black people, and white people
enjoy it?

Currently,Girlfriends has 2 Mulatta women in their 4 female core cast.
My Wife & Kids had a dark skinned eldest daughter, who was replaced in less than 6 episodes by the current Mulatta woman.
The youngest daughter is half white and Junior's "Babymomma" is played by
Brooklyn Sudano, the Mulatto daughter of singer Donna Summer.

One on One,the character Arnaz is Creole really, but is depicted as being
Bi Racial on the show.
2 major members of the 5 on Eve are white.

Only Bernie Mac and All of Us hasn't sold out.

The point I'm making,is that black shows have to capitulate to white viewers
by adding "a little less blackness",but Friends and Seinfeld can take place
in NYC,and be lily white. No kids on 8 Simple Rules is half black but light enough to pass for white. That would never happen.

Another issue is that BET sold out to a white corporation.
We could've had a network that made programs the truly depicted the black experience.
Instead they perpetuate these racial images by having skinny light skinned
scantily clad women in their videos,as if that is the epitome of black beauty.
Nothing against light skinned sistas, but they're not all there is.
Black women are like a candy store, there are all different kinds to choose from
and all of them are sweet.

Amen to your quote. I'm a beautiful brown-skinned woman and I get approached by all kinds of guys on a daily basis and a lot of my male friends range from brown-skinned guys, to a mexican, to a west indian, to light-skinned guys and they're all very attractive, just to prove that not all men like the norm. A lot of my buddies are light-skinned and have very pretty faces and then I have my brown-skinned buddies who are just are pretty and they all get approached. So my point is that music videos and Kevin Hill do not show all the flavor and shades of African-American women and it's just not the truth!

It's amazing to see a new fresh dramatic series that has a black lead, Taye Diggs but then everything and everyone else around him is white or half of something else. The only other regular 'black' featured on the show is Michael Michele who also looks white at a quick glance, well she's probably mixed too. It's hollywood way of saying a black show can't succeed unless white is in it. Whereas white shows do not have to comply to put blacks in. Either way you look at it, it's still racism. Black people who are so talented in so many ways still have yet to be given a chance to carry a show on their own. Black women especially get dissed in this category. They are not featured hardly on anthing other than comedy. You may see a few specs here and there but this show should be featured around black women. Why not let a 'true sista' react to Kevin's current situation? Taye Diggs, who is the producer, needs to have a say in this. Oh,...I forgot he's married to a white women. So what does that say?...

just in case you didn't find out, already: the too ethnic and less ethnic babies are quintuplets. both parents are black. the quints are not identical, in fact, two are boys. the reason they used so many babies, like all tv and movie productions is that the law limits the hours a child can work and babies can't follow directions. if you need a sleeping baby, a baby can't 'fake' sleeping, etc. since down time on set is expensive, twins are good, trips are better and quads and quints, while rare are a goldmine, unless, of course, they are all non-identical, like the five 'girls' that were signed for the show.
