Greg House: Once-in-a-lifetime role

In my opinion, Greg House eclipses Hugh Laurie's past and future roles by a landslide. Nothing he's ever done or will ever do will ever come close to the scintillating brilliance that is House.

Unfortunately all good things have to end 😞. It's a good thing House made it to 8 seasons. Plenty to watch 😀

I agree. He owned this character better than anyone could. No matter what movie I see him in he will always be House to me.

Just watched Sense and sensibility, and have recently been watching Veep, both with Laurie. He does fine in both of them, as he did in Stuart Little and everything else he's done, but he never captures the attention like he did on House.

Of course, this is not his fault. House made him a protagonist and gave him enough screentime to show both his comedic and dramatic abilities. It's truly wonderful that there was a show that allowed such talent to manifest itself fully.

Well, Blackadder was a show of a similar calibre, but as a straight comedy and with him being in more of a supporting role it definitely didn't let him shine in the way House did.

Hugh Laurie outdid himself with the role of Gregory House . He portrayed a character that was so complex, with about 20 different sides of his personality, there are not enough words to describe him... In every episode he shows a different side... That's why we love him, because just when we think we have him figured out, he flips... Lol

reply

Actually I did figure him out. It's just gonna take more than 20 words to describe him fully.

Two words describe the character pretty concisely: Sherlock Holmes-esque.

Naw. He could easily play the same character again in another show that's a twist on Sherlock Holmes.

Also, his work on Black Adder was brilliant. I would easily put it right up there with House.

I have to say Dr House is my favorite Tv character and they couldn't have chosen anyone better to portray him than Hough Laurie.

He just gives this character the perfect balance between comedy and drama, i just love and hate him at the same time.

I personally think Blackadder is above House with it's writing and comedy.

To you, Baldrick, the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people, wasn't it?
