One of the greatest and at the same time most disappointing things....

Is how every time you think House is softening he drops a bomb.

Good thing because there is always the hope of seeing a character transformation, an element of surprise and we girls start swooning on those moments but disappointing because its a comeback to reality and its still evil House.
When we think he is turning into McDreamy he says something whoich remind us he is mc Grumpy lol

David Shore used to say that in movies, characters learn a lesson and end up changing, but in TV shows, characters have to stay the same. That's why House was never going to find complete happiness or become an overall nice gentleman, even when he founds possibilities for that (Stacy, Cuddy, all the pain treatments, etc.).

I love house the way it is andunderstand how he wants to keep house faithful to the essence of the character butI disagree on what he says TV characaters can change and actually could reach better arcs since they have much more time to develop the characters and take them where they want.

If you think about it, characters did change in the show - Chase stopped being a brown noser, Cameron wasn't so naive at the end as she was at the beginning, etc. Shore's theory, however, is that fans were drawn to the show by House, a complex, mostly unhappy, obsessive, drug-addicted practicioner of medicine. If House somehow changed and became soft, the one thing that attracted fans to the show would be gone. I actually think they took a major risk by letting House be free of drugs during a season and a half.

Yes ive seen all change and House does have more moments of humanity each time like the web cam patient. It was so sweet how he talked to her like a real patient but yes House couldn't change much thst could have made him loose his magic to msny fans.

He can get a little softer and show more sides of his personality but not doing a whole big change.
