Did anyone else enjoy the finale? (spoilers)

I thought that it was a nice touch to have House sacrifice his career so he could spend a few more months with Wilson. The show was at its strongest when it focused on the characters and their relationships with each other.

I think the show was best when it focused on House. All the other characters were interesting pretty much when they interacted with House or furthered his story.

The show was at it's weakest when it tried to create stories for the supporting characters. They were really not that interesting on their own outside of House.

Even the filler scenes with patients' medical procedures and tests were more interesting than the personal lives of the supporting characters because at least they furthered the story within the episode.

I agree. House was a very compelling main character, and some of the other drama and subplots could seem random or shoehorned-in at times,

That's why I'm glad that the final 2 or 3 episodes were primarily about House (and Wilson to a lesser degree). It was always one of the best dynamics on the show.

I do wish that House would have been able to practice medicine after the finale. It's definitely a possibility, but he could never return to Princeton-Plainsboro.

I did like it . I might have preferred a different direction for his character leading up to season eight and not have fake his death . That said House and Wilson leaving together was the best possible outcome at that point. I would however preferred if they were not out on their last adventure .
I was so afraid they would do something that would ruin the entire series for me. Thankfully no How I Met Your Mother type ending.

Im at half of season 3 but i already got the whole ending spoiled by my oen choice so i still can comment on it.

I know House is not a romance but i don't like this direction for the main character because

1 his main passion is his career. He was really good at it no one was at certain of the diagnosis as he was so its not a fair ending for him and especially because i didn't like Wilson to be the one he would leave his career for.

2 Wilson well is a character i never liked him, he envyed House in so many ways and betrayed him big time with Tritter, he didnt deserve House sacrifice.
if House would have sacrificed his career for someone that one should have been Cuddy who committed perjury to save him from Tritter. She was the one supported all his crazy ideas to save the patients she was truly unconditional and loyal to him.
She did the injection thing House suggested, she putted Foreman in his place when he believed he could lead the department better than House.

So if he would have left his career for someone that one should have been Cuddy. They were truly in love with each other.
Ive seen a few clips on YouTube from season 7 and she is the only one who truly loved him and he did many stuff for her, he blew it many times but supported her others their connection was the real deal.

So i guess i am team Huddy but if it wouldn't have a love story i would i have prefered House moving to another hospital with a new team or do something with a whole new Team with him leading again.
Non of the other guys have Leadership skills like House, as a jerk as he was he knew how to guide them and make them all work fine.
I hatted how Foreman had his arse kissed when he resigned and said he didn't want to be turned into House.

And brings me back to Wilson he didn't deserve House, he never defended him like Cuddy or even Cameron .

reply

I would have liked him back with Stacy.
By season five I could have done without Cuddy .So many things about her I liked less and less.
or even one of the other women he interacted with

Wilson isn't always easy to like but when they are at their best Hilson is gold . Some of their best stuff comes from season four on - Birthmarks, Private Lives, The Down Low, The C Word to name a few. They had the main relationship . I also liked the place House and Foreman got to by the end.

The supporting characters are not always likable . Park is about the only one I never had any problem with . Still I Iiked most of them at one time or another .

I was hoping we'd be done with cuddy after the tritter arc. It was the perfect place to have her fired or be forced to step down after she totally mishandled the entire tritter situation allowing him to practically shut down two of her doctors and rummage through confidential patient files. I was hoping the board would have a no confidence vote so we could get rid of her finally.

I would've loved to see him end up with Stacy, Domenika or even Lidia. They were the only women who actually enjoyed being with him and who i could see be in love with him.

I had a love/hate thing with Wilson all through the series. The thing with Wilson was i didn't always agree with what he did, but he always did things out of love and concern for House. They genuinely cared about one another and House always forgave him.

Yes I had that love/ hate thing with Wilson too he could be condesending but most of it did come from his concern for House .

Dominkia and Lydia would be my other choices along with Stacy .

reply

I haven't got to meet Lydia or Domenika but i would have been fine with him getting back with Stacy it would have made sense. She is one of the female characters i liked the most and yes she did love House very much.

When house broke up with her in season two i think she knew he did it as a sacrifice and hatted how Wilson judged him, he broke up with Stacy because he felt guilty for fighting mark at the stairs when he asked him to talk, he felt guilty about Mark being miserable. He knew how much he really needed stacy and he wouldn't have liked to be in his place.

Sooo yes i would have accepted if House would have reconciled with Stacy.

Anyway im surprised he didn't corresponded Cameron with her love for him, he did like and respected her but its so weird he didn't love her back the way she wanted to, i thought her loyalty and trust defense for him would have made him love her but nope.
Nothing really happened with her.

I enjoyed the finale but Wilson getting sick was lazy writing. Wilson's chemo episode was one of the best IMO but giving him cancer was sort of cliche.

It wasn't surprising House quitting medicine. He was never doing it for the patients. Quitting for Wilson was touching. After all they turned a cliche into an emotional finale. It was quite nice.
