Took me by surprise

I actually thought this movie was awesome. I say that for a number of reasons though. One, I don't usually like watching subtiled movies (But I love "City of God"). Two, the camera work looked a little to independent at times.

But all and all the story line and the charters where really well developed. I like the black guy and the claires' sister though. Plus the bi racial roommate aspect of the movie was GREAT!!!!!!!! I wish I could see more films like this one.

I agree. This film was a pleasant surprise. The lead characters were extremely well drawn and likable. I thought Henri in particular was a very cool and engaging dude. Plus Marquise was one nasty, yet still sexy bitch.

I really enjoyed the film too. Normally movies are either fairly logically predictable, or unpredictable-illogical, but this movie it felt unpredictable but rational. I never expected what the female lead would do at the end.

I enjoyed the film too, and just wish that their relationship had been more developed emotionally. I couldn't believe his attachment to her was more than just sexual, and did she really love him or not? How did she become impregated in the end, and why would a male child save the family ? Confused! I also like the original title of White Skin instead of Cannibal. Very misleading.

If Claire didn't love him there would be no explanation for her shooting Marquise in the head. It's not as if she did not know what Marquise used to do in order to eat.

Maybe she became impregnated in the usual fashion.

A male child would not save the family from anything else than relying on sexual intercourse with human males in order to reproduce. Of course, they would still be needed as a source of food.
