David Hyde Pierce was better. Way better

I like Hellboy 2 but I can't stand Doug Jones's voice in comparison to DHP. DHP has a great voice and really matched Abe's personality(as shown in the film, I understand the comic book version is quite different). I wish Del Toro could suck up his pride and allow DHP to voice Abe if Hellboy 3 ever happens. I don't care if the studio forced him to redub Doug Jones in the first one, the movie was better off for it. Anyone else agree?

No

Who says violence is not the answer?

I 100% agree that's one of the things that kind of put me off about this film i thought abes voice was better in HB1 not to mention i think HB1 is much better then 2 in general but that's just my opinion.

You're kidding! No wonder I thought DHP played Abe in Hellboy 1, only to be completely surprised to see he was played by Doug Jones... I never knew David did the voice. Haha I feel so silly.

And you're right, his voice was much better.

I honestly could not tell the difference and I thought it was gracious of David Hyde Pierce to bow out of the second film on principal.

"I say,open this door at once! We're British !"

I really like Doug Jones's portrayal...voice and all. Abe is just so different from Hell boy. It's a great contrast.

David was so much better. However if he and Seth Macfarlane were in it together, there would be too much comic effect. Seth's charector had me rolling at every line. So much like Klaus from American Dad. Bravo Seth!!

David Hyde Pierce was better

Agreed.

Having watched them back to back, I do have to agree. DHP was easily the better actor.

I still enjoyed Doug's performance: "I would die and do the dishes."

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.
