Howdy Doody - Television on Christmas Eve 1955?

In the opening of the movie, the black and white TV is playing 'Howdy Doody' at night, on Christmas Eve 1955. Wasn't this a daytime or morning show? Not shown during evening hours, because it was a children's show?

Discuss. Serious answers only please. Thanks in advance.

Howdy Doody was on Saturday mornings. The consumer VCR wasn’t unvented until LONG after
Howdy Clarabell et al. left the airwaves.
