Could have done without the porn portions. (warning, spoilers)

IMO, they were boring and excessive, contributed little to the movie. Other than that though, this was a great flick. Tarantino's way of satyricizing violence always gets a laugh out of me because it's so ludicrously over the top (cummon, would a guy who'd just had his throat slit deeply actually laugh?) Another thing I notice is that in a lot of his movies (if not all of them) there is at least one person who opts not to pursue a violent solution. In "Pulp Fiction", it was Jules who got out of the business and stayed alive as a result. In Desperado, it was El Mariachi, who threw away his guns in the end (well, most of them anyway). In "Hell Ride", it was The Gent who finally opted not to shoot Pistolero.

Well, First I must correct you on two things. Tarantino did not direct this movie or "desperado". Next thing you know, You'll be claiming he made "Hero" as well *rollseyes*. As for all thes comments on it having "porno" aspects. Have you ever seen a porno!? Yes, This movie has nudity but it is no where near a porn flick, In the slightest sense even...

reply

It certainly had the acting and production qualities of a porno film.

Look at me I have an intelligent quote about life and society from an overrated movie.

I could not disagree with you more. As a mainstream movie this just bites. Had they played up on the "porn scenes" as you call them this could be one of the greatest skin flicks of all time!

reply

Hear hear! (I just randomly switched by this thing and was sure it was the most ironic and funny/cheesy porno ever, but then the x-rated scenes never showed and I had to look up the details here. My mind now boggles at the screaming lack of irony -> A homage? How? Wut?)

Why are little old ladies watching this?

reply

seriously dude, check the credits on IMDB before writing such a lame post. Oh wait, this IS IMDB..... on another note why is it you like violent movies so much, but as soon as a titty is shown you get offended and act like a little old lady?

reply

The "porn" parts were the only good thing about this movie.

reply

The real pornography in this poor example of exploitation nostalgia consists in the fact the sex is between middle aged wannabe macho douchebags and women who look like they could be their (gran)daughters. As attractive as some of the actresses in this movie may look, after this gig they can probably expect to be cast forever in roles of strippers and trailer trash.

reply

I couldn't agree more. It's the only thing who saves the movie from eterna boredom.

You people are just too sensitive and uptight to enjoy a movie. It was entertaining in my opinion, and not to be taken so seriously. Who doesn't love seeing a little skin? I've never in my life heard of people complaining about sex scenes.. I mean, really?! Just enjoy the movie for what it is.. a MOVIE.. a FICTIONAL movie to entertain us.

I missed the part where The Gent decides not to shoot Pistolero, does Comanche shoot The Gent? I mean, there is a gun fired, but no effect ...

Also, I was surprised Vinnie Jones decided to take the role he did in this film. Wasn't that flattering at the end, lol.

I didn't find this film boring at all. The 'porn moments' were lame to me as well, but I think they kind of went well with the trashy idea of the film.

I also wondered if Comanche fired his gun at Gent, but if he did or didn't (I didn't bother to investigate it) seemed quite irrelevant since he seemed to live on without problems anyways.

Riddle: What things are not that obvious before being mentioned by word?
