the second time watching

I gave this film a "10". The makers have managed to illustrate almost all of the manifestations of OCD (contamination, checking, magical thinking, trichotillomania, etc) into a single film and they did so successfully.
Giving this poor man Tourettes as well was brutal, but served to illustrate how difficult these conditions can be and how they insidiously take over the sufferer's life. The film further demonstrates the secondary selfishness that these conditions bring about since the relief from one's own anxiety becomes the focal point of their lives. The subtleties incorporated into each scene, small details of characteristic behaviors, and how superbly acted this piece was are much more noticeable on the second viewing.
