I was shocked by what I saw in this movie and hope it doesn't come close to reality.
Can anyone recommend any other feature films that depict legal proceedings in France (or elsewhere in continental Europe?)

I am not quite sure what you mean. The system is certainly a different one but I not sure what has shocked you. The French show, Spiral, might be one that would interest you, as it shows a crime and its consequences as these touch police, defence and prosecution lawyers, as we as the perpetrators and the victims, and you learn, "between the lines" more about the French judicial system.
