in the penultimate scene when Tom's wife (?) comes out of the building and he asks Were they nice to you? And she tells him that her neck hurts. Maybe it's the fault of the subtitles, but what are we supposed to make of that scene? Where had she been and why does her neck hurt?
shareI was a little unsure about that scene, too. I think, though, the idea is simply that she was having press or publicity photos taken and his question about whether they treated her well was simply his way of expressing concern about the demands of her life as a concert pianist.
I don't think we're supposed to read too much into the scene. We're just being given a glimpse into the characters' new life together.
