Funniest moment?

Hey guys,

what do you reckon is the funniest moment in the movie, all the fighting aside. When that guy says:

"Your coming to our meeting all mellow saying; Hey guys I've been playing piano. Hell, I might just take up Banjo."

or

"If you loved me you would ask me if I f@ck others."

"So do you."

"Oh yeah."

or whatever you found funny???

the second one definitely, it's such a 'typical' female response! (not wanting to be stereotypical or anything!)
i saw this film a couple of weeks ago..i am so glad it had subtitles, i would have never understood a thing without them!

I think the funniest moment is when the chinese guy says HE is Jean-Pierre.

The funniest moment for me was when he's attempting to communicate with the Russian what's-his-name and he goes, "I keel you! I keel you motha-" and then looks up at someone passing by and tries to laugh.

what about the time when he gets so annoyed at piano lessons and almost quits but miao starts a chinese rant and he just sits back and starts playing again? that is the funniest scene in a movie in a long time

reply

best moment is when he seduces minskov's girlfriend

That one had me laughing too. It wouldn't have been as comical if he didn't speak it with a heavy French accent...and also the part where he went "F U" - he looked like he was going to crack up himself.

There were some funny dialogs in the film, but I don't think the subs conveyed that and it probably would've been funny if I did speak French.

i like the first one, when his "co-worker" confronts him about being too mellow about his piano. haha i like the banjo comment because french people and banjos just don't mix.

I found it funniest when his dad says "I ask you to get my money back and all you do *beep* his chick?"

Genius!

I actually quite like the bit where he keeps screwing up in the audition and in the end is playing jibberish.. it's pretty funny - if you've been in that situation you know how bad and go to worse very quickly!

The scene in the piano teacher's kitchen when they're taking a break from the lessons and he's tutoring her french. "Ca? Tasse. Et Ca? etc." And when they're working on the word "casserole" he sneaks out a cigarette, then the matches, and by the time she's done saying the word it's too late, checkmate.

I love it when he's in his car and he pops his finger up and nods his head in time to the beat... what a cool mofo!

"So many fortresses and ways to attack"

Irony always makes me laugh.

In the cafe with his dad, Thomas told his dad he met Fox, his Mother's agent, his Dad's response, was calling the guy a fag or something like that made me smile. I thought, "Gee, what a nice guy."

That whole scene reminded me of "Officer and a Gentleman" when Zack (Richard Gere) tells his Dad (Robert Loggia) that he wants to join the Navy to fly jets. Dad's response to Thomas' new interest to start the piano again was basically the same-not very supportive. And yet Thomas is there to help him.
