Do you think Thomas will get killed after what he did to the Russian guy? I know the movie left the ending open, but what do you think?

nope. the russian guy does not even know who thomas is or what his agenda was to beating him up. unless he's good with remembering faces, thomas is as good as safe.

Exactly. The russian didn't know who Thomas was. Of course, you would think that eventually someone would find the Russian, and that the body guards could look around and find Thomas sitting there with blood all over his clothes and pouring out of his hands, but I think the open suggests that music SAVED Thomas.

As much as I generally enjoy French films, it would be nice to see something other than an ambiguous and rather miserable ending.

Nope, the fight took place away from the final scene and there was not anyone else present. The Russian was not with his henchmen and no real discussion took place between teh Thomas and the Russian apart from Thomas asking his name. One just hopes that if Thomas is the Chinese girl's agent that he's a bit more gentle with people who don't give him teh deal he wants.

He is not just her agent, the two are quite obviously "an item".
