It's like The Lord of the Rings and Everquest meets Monty Python. HAHAHA I LOVE IT!

And it's not our fault...

i love the game as much as you all and yes it dose seem the game is a combanation of lord of the rings and monty python.

oh well still you should really play the new version too, ya may just like it. and besides i dont think they based it off the old ones anyway. i dont know for sure cuz i havent played the old ones.

I can understand that. I think my like of the new game over the old ones is that I havea bit of a bias towards the first person perspective, type/point click sort of RPGs. For whatever reason they bore me a bit, BT was an exception to that though.

well sorry about the whole you hated Monty Python thing, i kinda thought that cuz of past posts.
anyway i should try the old ones though, they might just be fun. of but if you want a trailer for The Bards Tale just let me know, i can put up a link.

The first couple of Bard's Tale games were never quite as funny or well put together as this one.

They were all first peson perspective where you get 3d or 2d veiw of only what directly in fornt of you. Unlike the PStWO game you get to create a party of six to nine characters of any of the varing well known fantacy human, demi-human races based on poppular fantacy fiction like Tolkien.

Combat was always handled as on a turn by turn basis.

Despite it's simplicity, it was one of my favorite fantacy games. The first one that I ever owned.

One of the remaining similartities of this game is the setting of Skara Brae. Which is a real town in the islands north of Scotland. Though the physical setting is most probably made up.

One thing I hated about this latest game was that the perspective was almost always top down and it was hard to see the well drawn critters properly. I think you could call it bad camera.

I do hope there will be sequel. Wasn't there a petition for this on the site I linked up above.

the one thing that i REALLY love from the game is the beer song, my friends and I are gunna do it for a talent show, in kilts and bad accents, and steins with apple cider, spilling it all about and sounding drunk, i'll try to get it recorded ^_^
