…in her dad’s company. Oceanic would not have paid the Oceanic 6 survivors the several dozen or hundred million dollar amount needed by Sun to buy her dads company.

Probably a combination of already being rich, Jin’s life insurance, settlement with Oceanic, and endorsements/book deals. She probably also may have cut deals with her father’s competition and business partners to acquire more funds to take over

I may be recalling incorrectly but didnt she insinuate that she got the money from the Oceanic settlement? I don´t think airlines pay that much for crash victims. I had a friend whose Dad died in the 1997 Garuda crash (he was the breadwinner of the family), it took nearly 20 years of legal wrangling to get like a couple 100k each for her and her brother.
