I watched 2 episodes of this and could tell

...it was probably a series designed to string along the audience and eventually go nowhere. The episodes were mildly entertaining but I never got hooked.

Well, it is a JJ Abrams vehicle so it does have all the hallmarks of a series that plants plot points and dubious foreshadowing. I'll go ahead and spoil it for you that there is no there THERE. The story is rooted in Science Fantasy but the plot unravels as the seasons progress. The first three seasons are fun to watch though, but I don't think you can appreciate the novelty today like viewers did when it first came out.

That is what I have heard from other people. Promising in the beginning, but the foreshadowed mystery never fulfills its promise.

It's an underwhelming payoff. The only redeeming quality that most fans agree on is the character development. We just wish they gave each character a meaningful resolution.

I bailed after 5-6 eps. At that point, it already felt like there was never going to be any plot resolution, like Gilligan and the gang were never going to be rescued.

I knew it wasn’t for me.
