annoying backstory episodes

I am sorry, I like locks back story but trying to get through the 22 episodes of the first season and there so much filler with all these flashback scenes, i want to quit watching the series.

lets face it, there are only a few backstories that are worth your time and then the story of the island and how the series develops is really where the real magic is in this show.

two back story's I can't stand is boone and shannon and claire and her baby drama. the acting is horrible, the way claire screams i want to put a bullet in my tv screen an claw my eyes out.
even jacks back story is pretty annoying.

only back story i dont mind is locks

hurley nd kates back sories are fine but i havent got to hurley yet, i am only on episode 13 and i already am hating these back stories

I liked LOST but the back stories were all pretty odd...Kate's was a little nonsensical and never fit her character...and Locke's always seemed much more fitting for a younger man.
They all were kind of interesting but each one had some fanciful twist that tested reality.
I actually think Boone's and Shannon's were the most believable. Jack's might have been if I could believe a top surgeon that looks like him could be so vulnerable and insecure.

Well this series, started the whole "backstory" thing. So forgive it.

I don't want to spoil anything, but reading your post you won't have to worry to much longer.

Jin and Sun´s always bored the hell out of me. Most of them I liked though. Can´t imagine you lasting since half the show is what happens to them off-island and alot of their pasts are woven into what happens on-island as the series progresses.

reply

i'm just saying after watching the series already the first season is hard to get through with so many episodes as well

reply

You watched the whole thing already? That´s impressive. Surprised you made it considering the 1st season is often considered the best.

reply

I thought season 1 was the best, so if you're finding it boring now you're not gonna enjoy the later seasons, some of them were brutal.

to billy stater and you, I don't think so this isn't dexter for example where i might agree with you, the show gets more exciting as it progresses in my opinion, I did like season 1 when I first watch it all those years ago. I wasn't hip to lost until the last season and I binge watched it on hulu I think when it was free. that my opinion. i liked the time travel shit and daniel faraday stuff. whatever though.

reply

Interesting. I do agree with a lot of what you said about the on-island stuff being where the magic happens. I hate hate hated, season 6 because of the flash sideways crap. I wish they had just abandoned the flash anywhere concept and just let the show play out on the island like it should have.

it's just another high profile tv show at the end of the day, it has it's moments , i'm at beginning of season 4 and im starting to hate it too

reply

It will end strong and keep you coming back for more.

reply

If you're hating season 4 we're basically on the same page tbh. I enjoyed season 1-3 but felt it really started to drag around 4. It did end well, though, as BillySlater mentioned.

Think I'm gonna take a break from binge watching, had a erotic Dream about a lady and right before I woke up with morning wood and all it turned into a homoerotic dream about jacob

Finished it all finally, but I blew through episodes like they were going out of style. Was at the last episode last night but saved it for this morning

I did get emotional a little but it's all a fabricated show I shrugged it off.

The flashbacks were hit or miss. There were some great ones, and some that were absolute duds. Some seemed like duds, but got bailed out by a great revelation at the end, or tying back to something from someone else.

The Best:
Locke's first 3 flashbacks were all great. The wheelchair revelation, giving his dad his kidney, and in season 2 when he meets his girlfriend.

Jack's in the first season were forgettable (thus me not remembering them, lol) but in the season 2 premier was the one where he met his wife and was able to make her walk again.

Charlie's first when they show his brother get him into drugs, but then his brother gets clean and Charlie is now an addict. Then his last one where he list his 5 best moments, ending with meeting Clare.

Jin's first where we see that Sun's father basically made him a mob hitman and the effect it had on him.

Desmond's first in the season 2 finale. And of course The Constant.

Benjamin's first, showing not only why he was evil, but what the Darma initiative was like, and its fate.

If you can't even make it through the first season of Lost, gl with the rest of the series
