Need ending explained (spoilers)

I have a similar question which I cannot find any answers for. During the end credits between showing the non-translated children's book you see Mitsuki crying with no context. Is she crying because of something in the story book or some other unexplained reason. Then Haruka turns to the the camera and cries happy(?) tears for no reason I can decipher. Perhaps if one plays the video game and knows all the different endings this might make more sense, but for me it confused what was an otherwise clear, though entirely unsatisfactory (for lack of realism, not "routing" for particular characters to wind up together) ending.
