Something's wrong with Ron White!!!!!!!!

I think its Ron White Im talking about. Im not sure if it was in this show but if he ever does stand-up comedy he smokes and drinks constantly throughout the show. I really dislike that. He may have good jokes but that amazes me how much he smokes and drinks. He is really funny like in one sketch where thier at the funeral and that one lady says, "He looks like he's sleeping" and then ROn says no and fixes him up. The guy's in an undershirt with one hand in his pants and the other holding a beer can. That was funny. But Im worried for him that he may have a problem with smoking and drinking. I dont know. Please Reply!!!

First off, the title of your post is misleading. You make it sound like you read somewhere that he's got cancer and is gonna die anyday. Kind of a drama queen are you?

Secondly, I honestly find it incredibly sad that you apparently have nothing more important going on in your life to worry abou. I mean you post about how worried you are about some comic that you have no personal relationship with simply because he smokes and drinks during his stand up routine. For all we know he could be drinking iced tea from a liquor bottle. And maybe he ONLY smokes during his shows. Try being concerned with your own health and the health of your friends and family before you get so terribly worried about a stanger.

He's not really drinking alcohol. It's tea or somethin'.

(she sneezes and drops him.)
ROSE: (after a pause) Oops.

reply

No. It's scotch. Trust me.

Then there was also something wrong with Frank Sinatra. Who lived to be nearly 83

Exactly! People fail to realize some of the simplest things. The drinking bit was made famous by Dean Martin, always up on stage with a virgin cocktail and in a mock-drunk state. And, at least not until late in his career, he never drank alcohol during a show. There is some talk about backstage on his variety shows, and what have you, but Ron White's got a long way to go before he's at that level.

Don't forget George Burns, who lived to be 100 (as did Bob Hope, another of that time in America when smoking and drinking was the thing to do). I still remember the SNL that fateful week of his passing, when Norm delivered a great punchline. "Let that be a lesson to all you kids out there: smoking kills."

Anyway, understand that doing stand-up is like character acting. What you do onstage does not dictate what you do outside the theater. For heaven's sake, it's like assuming that the cast of Hair heads home after the show naked.

You mean they don't? Damn, there go my fantasies.

It's all a schtick. I bet he's a vegan. He's fat.

reply

I've never seen him on the show, just on the movie. Anyway, The_Shlooze, what's wrong with being vegan? It doesn't mean you are fat! It means that you don't eat meat, products made with animals (milk, etc), or products made with animal products, such as brownies or chocolate (milk, eggs, etc). Trust me on this one, my brother is going to be a vegan when he leaves the house, and he's vegitarian now.

Ron does a bit about his vegetarian friend.
"I feel nauseas and I have a headache. I think vegetable soup I had for lunch must have had beef broth in it."

"Your system's kicking back...broth?"

reply

LOL. Yeah, that part's funny too. My all-time fave, tho, is when he is *literally* thrown out of a bar in NYC!

reply

Yeah, right. A lot of young people say that. Say it again, when you're 58.
