Operation on Eddi (the boy) -- spoiler

Toward the end, the gangsters seem to want to operate on the boy on a table. What are they trying to do? Harvest his organ? Throughout the movie, the boy said he was too old to be adopted. So the real purpose of the "adoption" was to kill him to harvest his organs?
