Vehicle mode problem

I just played this game for the first time since I played it right after it came out and somehow the vehicle mode camera has changed from a rear view to a front view. I checked the manual on how to change it back and it says R3 button, which is usually just the right analog stick straight down. I tried this and all it does is move the camera temporarily facing down. I've tried hitting every button and even tried every swear word I could think of, none of that seemed to help. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this? It's pissing me off because I can't see where I'm driving at all. Please help!

Thanks for replying. I tried the Options menu and nothing happened. Someone on another board suggested actually pushing in on the analog sticks, but that didn't work either. I tried starting a new game and got the same thing. I guess I could try deleting everything I have saved and just start all over again (I'm up to Antarctica against Starscream, so I was hoping to avoid that). Thanks for the suggestions.

Sounds like a game pad problem. PS2 games all come from master copies, so it's unlikely to be a bug in the game.

It's gotta be the controller. I've been playing several other games with no problem, but I just tried Grand Theft Auto III and the on foot controls are all backwards, and when I finally got into a vehicle the horn was continuisly honking. I tried the controller the system came with, but the screen said to put a Dual Shock back in. Guess I just need to buy a new one, but I appreciate all the help.

That's weird I have a dual shock ps2 controller and never
have that problem with either games maybe you got the pad
stuck on L3.

This is a long game though.
