a load of rubbish.....

........Just finished watching this "film", and I have to say it is one huge *beep* and not a lot else. I imagine people that would call themselves film buffs will probably rave on about many a different subtext, or how it's a real genre defining piece of art, blah blah blah, but in reality, it pretty much sucks. The best thing about it is the breakbeat soundtrack by Tobin.

Much Love!

(p.s. I do tend to enjoy surrealist cinema, just not this film.)

........Just finished reading the above "comment", and I have to say it is one huge *beep* and not a lot else. I imagine davethesquirrel would call himselve a film buff will probably rave on about how 'he tend's to enjoy surrealist cinema', blah blah blah, but in reality, his contribution to this board pretty much sucks. The best thing about it is his final, laughable 'p.s.' in brackets at the end).

Much Lol!

(p.s. I do tend to enjoy reading pointless posts, just not his one.)

reply

Just take your mama out to cinema tonight and she will tell ya how she feels about this film. I would pretty much believe her at your place :))

Genious:) I especially enjoy davethesquirrels remark about it "in reality" sucking. Well, we are all in the surreal, so no matter it sucks for "real":D
There´s always on that´s too unique to join the anti-mainstream.....

reply

haha I wouldn't actually call myself a film buff, however I do believe I have every right to convey my opinion of this film in the imdb message board as is the usual fashion. Ten out of ten for lampooning my comment style, however they do say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, so you must be pretty neanderthal. I bet you felt cool afterwards too? Finally, if you don't enjoy reading pointless posts, don't. Go out and get a girlfriend instead.

reply

...so why are you posting here then. ??

Go watch some tv instead.

or go out with yr girlfriend

if you hav 1. (brilliant riposte , by the way)

reply

well i'm just recommening that you get a girlfriend or go out, i'm not saying i have a life, apart from pointless posts, which is my life.

reply

apart from annoying you, which consumes much of my time also.

reply

uhhhh....you're not annoying anyone.

you're being roundly mocked, across the board.

reply

Actually, you're the only one who keeps coming back to "mock" me further, thus I wouldn't say I'm being "roundly mocked across the board", more that you love Margaret Thatcher. I can tell.

reply

Actually, you're the one who keeps coming back , thus I would say you're being "roundly mocked across the board", when 3 other posters on this pitiful thread (that you started) have mocked your vacuous, pointless comments. more that you love trolling. I can tell.

(Whats truly sad is that not once have you even bothered to try to defend your original statements about the film.

Like i said...pointless threads...why do peope even bother voicing their numb-skullery online?)

reply

This conversation is obviously quite old, but i thought i might join in anyway.

One thing i really felt I had to comment on was "get a girlfriend"...

What are you on about?... Really...

We're on imdb, supposed to be exchanging ideads about films, and you're basically saying "my films are better than yours, you smell like poo lol lolo lolo".

i'm not involved in this coversation anyway, so whatever.
I just felt the need to tell you about how critical arguments work.
They definately don't need that.

(p.s. did you mention girlfriends because you had just got one at the time?)

reply

haha I wouldn't actually call you a film buff either, however I do believe you have every right to convey your opinion of this film in the imdb message board, even if you can't actually articulate a coherent critique, (your 'opinion' is essentially "this films crap, cos i say so, anyone who disagrees is wrong"). Is your usual fashion to disparage anyone whose opinion differs from yours, by snidely implying (inbetween the lines), that viewers who appreciate TAXIDERMIA must be pretentious or scared to appear ignorant? I bet you felt superior after penning the lol "p.s." too? Ten out of ten for lampooning yourself, however they do say "get-a-girlfriend' is the weakest form of comeback, so you must be pretty juvenile. Finally, if you don't enjoy reading back how pointless your posts are, don't respond. Go out and get a friend instead...any friend.

reply

however they do say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, so you must be pretty neanderthal.

"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence." So...no dice, dave. Nice try, though.

reply

Absolute genius ;) I especially enjoyed Peepingtomcat's remark taking the complete pi** out of pointless posts! I've no idea what Taxidermia is like yet as im going to go and see it tomorrow night. But i may just come back and offer my pointless view once ive seen it....

reply

First off i would like to say that dave your brain is equivalent to a squirrels. Dave i would love for you to appreciate a great film, like this, on an intellectual level. Though i may only be 17, i find it amazing how i am able to extract the meaning of this film, while you on the otherhand, can't. This film does a great job of showing the beast within the human. The reacuring metaphor is deffinitly the animal. We see this in the beastiality, the father and his cats, and, of course, the taxidermist. This movie shows how through three generations of man none have evolved passed animal instincts. Ultamitly showing that we all have a beast inside of us. We are all animals like davethestupidasssquirrel.

reply

So you'd like me to defend my original statement that the film is, in my humble squirrel-brained opinion, crap? Personally, I didn't enjoy the film because I thought it used excessive gore to portray the uglier side of human nature, whereas other films have made a more successful job of this by leaving certain things to the imagination, often making the films more disturbing as a result. Secondly, films like this have no "shock value" anymore in today's society, due to the excessive gore which is commonplace in movies desensitizing us. Furthermore, I don't appreciate being told by a 17 year old, in fact a 17 year old who can't spell ultimately or recurring, and also who uses "passed" instead of "past", that I can't appreciate films on an intellectual level, because I can. Also, trying to tell me the meaning of the film, well it's pretty pretentious as far as I'm concerned. There is no set interpretation, we are individuals, therefore interpreting things such as art, poetry, literature and film differently. I personally chose not to take anything from this film because I dislike it. Is it that difficult to grasp? A final point, directed at peepingtomcat, you DO keep coming back, in fact you have returned twice since i originally told you, once to make a point of telling me that I keep coming back, and again to post another one of your 'hilarious' re-wordings of one of my comments. It was funny the first time, but it kind of gets old a second time. I eagerly await a third one!

Cap...clap ...clap...bravo...someone who calls himself "Fudge Pak" jumps on a board after it's near totally dead and has the temerity to call posters "carcass stuffers". ...just wot the world needs. wow. brilliant. what a hero. what a Champion of the Arts. Try to glean the gist of the thread, Einstein, before blustering like some big man on campus, months too late.

Yup, SWEET MOVIE...if Dave Squirrel hated TAXIDERMIA for the reasons he eventually stated , then yeah, sure...he's really gonna just freekin' adore dudes p*ssing in each other's mouths.

wot u gonna recommnd him next? FORCED ENTRY?

At least now he has a friend. ...go away.

reply

Well sadly I can't choose the names of people who actually agree with me for once, however do take note that a fair few of your supporters in this thread hadn't even seen the film when they were jumping to YOUR defense, so at least FudgePak has a credible argument for agreeing with me, minus the whole carcass-stuffer statement of course.

So you'd like me to post another one of my 'hilarious' re-wordings of your comments, that are, in your humble squirrel-brained opinion, "kind of...old a second time"?

Personally, I didn't enjoy your reply to ndf838 because I thought you used excessive patronization to highlight the pedantic side of your nature.

Furthermore, I don't appreciate reading how someone, in fact anyone who can't spell the word 'recommending' and also uses "i" instead of "I", can write...

Furthermore, I don't appreciate being told by a 17 year old,
in fact a 17 year old who can't spell ultimately or recurring,
and also who uses "passed" instead of "past", that I can't appreciate
films on an intellectual level, because I can.

..."i" can appreciate your labelling TAXIDERMIA 'pretentious', a word you unwittingly embody..."on an intellectual level".

reply

However, forgetting to press shift for a capital i doesn't quite embarrass quite on the same level as using poor grammar such as passed in place of past, so on so forth. Also, pretentious comments breed pretentious comments, so if ndf838 goes out of his/her way to patronize me about the fact he/she is 17, it feels natural to correct their grammar to knock them off their high horse. Perhaps this was a bit pretentious on my part, but I don't care too much. You'll be glad to know that your third attempt at lampooning was more disappointing than your second one, as I expected. Perhaps you should start making some original posts so that you actually have a leg to stand on and don't have someone else writing 90% of the comment for you.

reply

OMG All of you , please, shut the *beep* up

reply

The film is enjoyable without the political allegory. One doesn't need to be an intellectual film-buff to enjoy it.

I really hope evrybody on this forum is enjoying themselves.

I imagine people that would call themselves film buffs
