Why does Alex Rover look like Indiana Jones?

I get the whole thing about he's an adventurer but really...anybody else notice that?

Its borrowing from a lot of previous adventure stories such as Indiana Jones, Allan Quatermain, The guy from Conon Doyle's Lost World (Chamberlin I think), Crocodile Dundee, etc.. with the big braod rimmed hat, the unshaven face etc..

Its just a stereotype that was also picked up by Indiana Jones, but actually predates the Indiana Jones films.

Well, it happened more than 5 minutes ago, but characters like Indiana Jones are based on the characters in 1950's adventure films.

You need to read something that was published before yesterday on the internet:

"Indiana Jones is modeled after the strong-jawed heroes of the matinée serials and pulp magazines that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg enjoyed in their childhoods (such as the Republic Pictures serials, and the Doc Savage series)."

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
