I just finished watching the movie and thought it was quite good.

I'm wondering if anyone knows why the scene was included with the boy joyriding in the car and asking Donal if he wanted a lift? That was the only time we saw the boy and I didn't really see why it was included in the movie.

I think it was included to show the fondness that NI council estate youths have for stealing cars and joyriding. It's a huge problem.

I'm guessing it was specifically included to contrast Donal's own hardworking habits with those of his fellow disadvantaged estate dwellers.
