Am I a homosexual?

I know Eriko Sato is cute and all, but I still feel my sexuality was questioned by enjoying this movie. I keep trying to convince myself that its campiness is why I liked it but maybe that's just a rationalization? What do I do?

As long as your wrist doesn't hang limply when you talk, I think you'll be okay...It's perfectly normal for a masculine guy who oozes testasterone to like cutesy type of movies like this.

FFS, liking a movie doesn't make you gay.

If you're worried about it, go out, find some guy and try it. Don't come on a movie board and ask some complete random people you don't even know.

reply

FFS, he was being sarcastic.

And I think enjoying a gay porn movie would probably make you gay. Or at least bi. Which is still kinda gay.

reply

Grow up. Not all gays are limp-wristed. Besides, there's nothing wrong with being gay, anyway, and your choice in movies has NOTHING to do with it.

reply

Not only that but Mikako Ichikawa's hot!

watching Eriko Sato run around in nothing but plastic bags does not make you gay............in fact far from it.

Here's my two cents... sort of.

I don't think there's anything wrong about enjoying the campiness of japanese fantasy cinema. I realized that after watching Ika Resuura (The Calamari Wrestler) which, in all its absurdity and bizarreness, was absolutely AWESOME.

I fully understood that after visiting Japan a few weeks ago and watching more of these so-called oddities on cable TV.

No, you are not homosexual, or even weird as some people feel after experiencing something that is so different culturally speaking. And on a final note, be sure to watch Ika or the Azumi flicks if you're in the mood for more campiness. :P

The Cutie Honey movie/ova/anime are all sourced around the Cutie Honey manga which is a shonen. These types of manga/anime are typically created for adolescent boys. While the live action movie didn't feature near as much nudity as the others it's still not homosexual to enjoy watching a half dresses Japanese model hop around.

Well don´t worry lots of guys that have lot of muscles and look very macho are gay and they drink alcohol and smoke, so a movie or a cartoon doesn´t make people gay, was Walt Disney gay? was the creator of this cartoon gay?

I would think the more appropriate stereotype for a guy who enjoys this stuff would be a guy living in his parents basement playing WoW, never ever going on out with real people and comparing the movie to the original manga. Not homosexual at all, but rather the quintessential non-social, geeky, nerdy, chronically middle school hormonal guy.

I'm not implying that liking this would, by itself, confirm your "loser-ness", but it is one symptom, thus you may want to look at some of your other likes and hobbies before coming to a conclusion.

What if you're a female watching male gay porn, lol? (not that I do this, but I'm being technical)

It's amazing how many parents can afford basements these days. I never had that kind of wealthy parents, but other than that, your stereotyping is spot-on. WoW is a fun game, real people are a nuisance (and hard to find friends amidst, as you can't just go talk to people on the street and yet appear 'normal' to others), etc.

Comparing movie to manga doesn't seem to fit that stereotype, though.

what you are really talking about are wimpy nice guys, simps, 'losers' and no-lifers that this world despises the most of all.

I see people as human beings (until they prove to be either idiots or demons, and so far, pretty much everyone I have ever talked with has fallen to one of these categories), not as easily compartmentalized groups, but I have to admit way too many people pathetically fit these groups.

However, I see a 'macho bodybuilder alpha male' just as pathetic as a 'nerdy loser that lives in their parent's basement'.

I would actually think someone, whose parents can afford a basement, are well-off, unless basement is ALL they have.. then again, would it even be called a basement at that point?

reply

Just as a brain teaser, what would be the FEMALE equivalent of a loser-simp that lives in their parents' (let's face it, most people use the word 'mom's') basement..?

The problem is inequality; women are NOT expected to be a 'success' in the world (they are by default, and if not, there are affirmative action and fema-fascist groups), so they can't be 'losers', either.

No man cares if a woman is a 'loser', they still want to get into her pants (or under her dress, or maybe 'undress'). Women care a LOT if a man is a 'loser', and this is the problem.

So in the end, women are, again, the problem.

Gays don't care if some girl in a movie is cute or not.

Why would sexuality determine what you enjoy, or what you can or cannot enjoy?

Hint: it doesn't. It has nothing to do with anything other than sexuality.

Furthermore, isn't it weird that people think men shouldn't like colorful, cute or pink things, but at the same time, girls try to seduce men by dressing in pink and trying to be as cute as possible, while using colorful make-up and hair?

There's something schizophrenic about that.. men aren't allowed to DRESS in 'cute and pink' stuff, but men are supposed to be ATTRACTED to 'cute and pink' stuff when women wear or use it. How can the same eye both love and hate the same thing? It doesn't make any sense.

I say enjoy whatever you enjoy, regardless of any social or peer pressure or opinions of others, that's the only true way to be yourself. You are yourself regardless of what the world thinks you SHOULD be.

We all have masculine and feminine sides, but for some reason, only women are freely allowed to express both (i.e. women can wear pants, men can't wear dresses). This is insane to me, as we're fundamentally HUMAN BEINGS, that have capability to enjoy EVERY SINGLE COLOR in existence, and EVERY SINGLE CLOTH TYPE in existence, and so on.

Therefore, why should you limit yourself based on some arbitrary and artificial 'role' crap, whether it's sexuality or gender-based? Besides, aren't some groups always telling everyone that gender is a social construction, and there are 8 billion genders, and that it's 'cool to be queer' or whatever, and all that?

In any case, are gays allowed, in your opinion, to hate movies like this?

I don't see anything GAY about this movie anyway, I just see fun, typically japanese weird stuff that's sometimes over-the-top in a good way, sometimes boring, and a lot of fan-service, so this movie is OBVIOUSLY meant for 'heterosexual males' for the most part, why would the swimsuit model be so 'flirty and cutesy' anyway?
