Better chance of stoping a invasion? The aliens reminded me of the Covenant from the Halo series.

Without waterboarding we're screwed.

No chance at all. If the USA cannot beat the Viet Cong, Taliban, or ISIS, how could they possibly defeat aliens?

These aliens? Throughout the entire film, they only seemed like dumb beasts. I saw no explanation for how these could possibly be a space travelling civilization.

As for the Viet cong, Taliban and ISIS examples, don't forget that the fighting is on *their* home turf. The defense always has an advantage. You don't think either of those could manage to invade the USA, do you?
