western sci-fi mash-ups - more please?

Personally, I LOVED the combination of the spaghetti western, with cowboys, Indians, outlaws and ALIENS. AWESOME! nothing speaks to me like this does. Longmire is phenomenal as a more accurate modern interpretation of white/Indian coexistence, but where is the sci-fi? Adding sci-fi is like UPDATING a classic genre, like you would replace your landline with a smart phone. It is a NO BRAINER.

Wynonna Earp is pretty bad, nowhere near the level of Cowboys & Aliens, and yet, I am loving it anyway. It's not like there is an adequately wide range of selection.

All of you bitter whiners kvetching about the cheesiness still WATCHED. what else is there out there that mashes up these two genres? SOS!

You should watch Firefly, if you haven't already! It's only one season (that was cut short, even), plus a movie to follow it up (Serenity), and it doesn't have aliens, but it's pretty damn amazing nonetheless!

I did LOVE Firefly. I think I'm in some Facebook support group to bring it back. Castle is over and Netflix does do that kind of thing, but Morena is booked up between Gotham and a new husband/baby...still, we can hope!

Months later, and I just stumbled across this thread again...

Anyway, getting Firefly back would be all kinds of amazing, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised to hear the news that it's coming back (more like mind-blown!!!), instead of hoping against hope that it will... On the other hand though, we have Westworld! Sure, it's technically not exactly the same kind of genre, but it is pretty damn close though. I'm currently only 5 episodes in, so while I'd say it's good so far, it's hard to know exactly where it's going. But give it a chance, if you haven't already

I am actually IN LOVE with Westworld: both the current HBO series AND the 1973 flick which inspired it. PLEASED as PUNCH!
