changes to make it a hit

if these changes had been made before it was filmed im betting C&A could've made 500m+ ww :

-Robert Downey Jnr in the Craig role. Craig was too dour to face off with the already dour Ford.

-Up the fun and lols (maybe something similar to ID4/MiB). The title, director, ford, exec producer Spielberg suggested a fun throwback to 80s Amblin SciFi and a fun mash up of genres. not a modern style depressing deadly serious film.

-Lose the wife abducted and incinerated (talk about a downer!)

-Lose the boring 'metallic moving parts' transformer like alien tech that's been a staple in cinema ever since 2007. Instead have more retro alien tech - flying saucers - 50s style or CE3K/ET style?

-have more standard looking little 'grey' aliens. Not Alien meets Predator

-Clint Eastwood cameo at the end (CG deaged 'High Plains Drifter' Clint). e.g. earlier in the film have some reference to some other mysterious stranger who encountered the aliens once before who appears right at the end in a crowdpleasing 'holy $hit!' cameo (something similar to Sean Connery at the end of 'Prince of Thieves' or CG Arnie at the end of Terminator 4)
