"Come Away Home" is finally headed to DVD! An exact date hasn't been announced, however Empire Film Group has announced that it will be released in the first quarter of 2008! That's great news, especially considering many of us have been waiting since 2005 to see it!

Just letting everyone know that I was told by Doug himself that "Come Away Home" will be released on or around february 5th. The cable channel "Starz" will also air the movie, on several occassions, starting February 4th. You can purchase a copy at your local Wal-Mart. It has been a long time coming, but worth the wait, it is excellent!!

shareIt's past February 5th and I cannot find this film at Wal-Mart or any other store that sells videos. Does anyone know if this film has been released to stores or is it only available on the Internet? Maybe the deal with Wal-Mart fell through, and this film was not widely released to stores as it is not a major film.

I only just discovered this movie with the DVD release, and was shocked to learn that it was made way back in 2005. Why in heck did they wait so long? I am certainly glad I did NOT see it in the theater and then need to suffer the three years of waiting for the studio to quit playing their stinking games with our heads and release it to DVD. I am certainly glad the first place I ever saw this movie was in my own "theater", because I loved it, and I would've gone MAD waiting three years to get my copy. Maybe the best idea is to avoid the big theater entirely. A 100-inch wide screen on my bedroom wall is "big" enough anyway.
