How brilliant is India??

What a star! So glad Gordon gave her a job at Boxwood after that selfish woman in Paris (Rachel?) left her in the lurch. No ego, hard working, innovative, & imaginative. I really hope she goes as far as she deserves to. Would that there were more like her in this country.

I totally agree, she had natural talent written all over her. You could see her enthusiasm in her body language, she was perfect for that little restaurant. Rachel should be thoroughly ashamed of herself, what a total loser she is for letting India down so badly.

reply

She didn't let India down so much as she did her father. She was lazy and indifferent.

I believe I remember someone saying that Rachel and India were sisters - I think it was when Brian and India first came from Scotland. Since they don't look that much alike, and Rachel didn't seem to be very friendly towards India at all, I'm guessing they were half-sisters (sharing dad Brian). For whatever reason, the two of them certainly didn't get along well. Gordon even touched on this briefly prior to an important dinner service.

As for Rachel, I really wanted to see her succeed - if only to prove that a vegetarian restaurant could survive in Paris! - but her laziness, even with the help and enthusiasm of India, Gordon, and Brian, only showed that she really didn't give a crap about the restaurant, and did not respect any of the others for their efforts. And Brian was left holding her debts. I wonder how much it really cost him in the end? Have to feel sorry for the poor man.

I would love to see a follow-up on India and what/how she is doing these days!

So would I! I totally agree about the vegetarian restaurant too. I've got 2 vegans in the family too which is an absolute nightmare in France! Italy is very accommodating though.

They're not related. No one said they were. Her father "found" India.

I loved the fact that a vegetarian restaurant in France meant "tons of cheese and butter" and also that everyone they interviewed there was American. Embarrassing moment for America.

I know this is an old thread, but I loved this exchange between India and that idiot Rachel.

Rachel: "I'm chilled, I'm chilled"
India: "Yep, you're always chilled"

Burrrrrn.

I'm sure Rachel still didn't get the message.

reply

I don't know. I have never gone to India.
