Season 2 ending (SPOILER)

I started watching this show, knowing full well there would be open endings due S3 being cancelled. But actually there were a lot less unresolved issues than I had feared.

An overview per character :

- Huff : Uncertainty regarding his future ? You bet. But the doc says he's on schedule so who are we to doubt a pro ?

- Russell : Sure, it's unclear what the future (being fired, arrested and possibly charged with murder) holds for him, but he goes out giving birth to his son. That big old goof will land on his feet, right ?

- Beth : Another character on the road to recovery it seems. At least she didn't make any wrong choices like take huff back in too soon or sleep with that limey.

- Bird : More doubt here. What exactly happened to that Eli kid ? I don't buy the "they buried his body" angle. No way would Bird have been able to do that and then lie to grandma about the lighter and the blood.

- Teddy : Very, very sad. All we can hope for is that the girl is OK, because she sure as hell didn't deserve what she got. What a nightmare it must be for Izzy to have a son who is essentially a good guy, but also a real danger to himself and others...

Always ask yourself :"What would Neil Patrick Harris do ?"

Huff: I have a lot of sympathy for him, having to hold it together while his entire family collapses. My biggest criticism of him (and this may be "artistic license") is that he needs to answer his phone less and prioritize his wife a little more. Maybe she'd be less b!tchy if he did.

Russell: Love this guy, even though I started out hating him. I think Fellini (perfect name, too) is going to get Russell on a better track.

Beth: I stopped identifying with her character in season 2. She just got to be too snotty, I think. I hope she turns it around, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bird: Bird is showing some signs of mental illness, and it wouldn't surprise me if he was able to off Eli and lie about it to the grandma. Interestingly, Grandma never outed him to the parents about what she'd found.

Teddy: That really scared me. I think I had some subconscious notions about "love is all you need" with Teddy and Alyssa, but schizophrenia trumps that.

Yeah, shocking and sad what he did to that poor girl.

I don't think Byrd killed James! (Eli was Byrd's friend, not the Chris Marquette creep.) They just beat him up. I'm sure they returned him to his house...

I agree. I don't think they murdered James. But I didn't see James as the type who would not seek revenge, either. So had the show continued he may have popped up his ugly mug again.

I think Huff and Beth spent years screwing up Byrd's psyche. Izzy joined in at the end of the series. They were too lenient on him, then when he's 15 they decide to clamp down on him. Huff and Izzy decided it was time to knock him around a bit. Yes, Izzy apologized later, but to the wrong person.

Had the show continued I would have hoped for life in prison for Russell. He was a true sociopath--a habitual liar, narcissistic at hell, a drug addict, a drunk, and a man-whore all wrapped up in one disgusting package.

I've never been in Beth's corner--just too damn bitchy about just about everything--but I agree with her decision not to let Huff come home. Not yet, anyway.

I think it was a mistake to put Teddy in that "half-way house." Izzy was right when she insisted that he be returned to the institute. That poor girl was a jewel. If she survived she'd be scarred for life.

Actors do not have a job...they have a blast!

Which brings up the question: what can a woman do to avoid getting involved with someone like this? If she had 'googled' him would she have seen he attacked his mother? I'm guessing that would not have been in the news.

What was the first clue if any that he was ill and she could have not gotten involved with him?

Or when he did tell her the truth, could she have broken up with him without his coming after her?

Just wondering in the real world how to avoid a mentally ill person.

I just finished watching S2 and find myself with this concern for women.
