The Great Queen Seondeok n Yi San, much MUCH better!!!

...and stuck to the facts where as Jewel In The Palace was more ficticious.
+```ang-Geum will p(iss) many of us off (if she hasnt got to u already), so much that you'll end up w/ high blood pressure by the time the show is over! lol! Another poster posted something to this effect on another board, but its soooo true BEWARE! ...On the serious side tho, many watch Asian dramas or films b/c they find them attractive & interesting "yet" they picked the most basic stone-faced Korean actress to play Jang-Guem, while she & other actors stammered & studdered their way thru 54 eps! Those were the main complaints I've seen on the boards where online viewing is free, or w/ a small fee for membership.

In the show's poster they put make up & lipstick on Young Ae Lee which attracted many viewers (nice strategy)! But once we began watching the show, we become drawn in by the mesmerizing, cute, talented, child-actress "Jo Jung Eununtil"! Thousands were HOOKED by the intense story-line by the time they realized they've been had by a stone-face actress w/ a speech impairment & NO MAKE UP :O playing the older Jang Geum! It was attractive actresses & actors w/ natural beauty & surprising acting skills whom made the show legendary!

How I see it, the unusually intense storyline supposedly based on truth (NOT!) and supporting actors is what kept ppl interested. The fact that there was a female doctor in the palace, is as true as Jewel In The Palace gets. The rest, like most their historical dramas, were ficticious. But I have to admit, the writing & imagination excelled in dramas like The Great Queen Seondeok, Jumong, Painter In The Wind and the fasinating Yi San!
