Ending?

Hi!
I was wondering what people thought about the ending, did it make sense to you? Also, what was that long pointy think in Shaukat's hand when he dragged Ash to the beach cliffs? Thanks!

The ending was confusing and bad. I thought movie was like Adaptation. Then I thought may be it was like Beautiful Mind. Then when the movie end, I was like okay this is really baddly written movie which tries to be fake-smart (which means they are stupid, but wants to be smart).Atleast Govinda movie are stupid but do not pretend to be more than what they are. 100 Thumps down

I think the movie was just showing that the guy snapped at the end. It kinda toyed with the idea (left it open to the viewer) for the majority of the movie, whether he really had some sort of 'powers' or was just channeling all these things through his head, in a borderline dillusional way, to create a novel that mirrors 'reality'. The end just kind of clears it up: he's really off his rocker and can no longer separate the words he writes from his own reality. In a sense, he believes he's writing his own destiny and the morning after completing the novel, when he wakes his wife up, he's desperately searching for the final page so he can burn it and rewrite it because it writes his future out to be a descent into insanity. When he cannot locate and change the final page he really does go insane. I guess it was just showing that he took the critics blasting of his previous novel(s) way too seriously and wanted to create a novel that *was* reality. In the process fate played a wicked trick on him and he made those around him suffer before performing psychological hara-kiri upon himself.

I found the end to be well written and very clear.

I could understand Aish's devotion to her husband after his breakdown (she loved him), but as a viewer I found it frustrating that she stayed with him when there was clearly a life of sadness ahead of her.

The only change that I would have made to the ending was that I would have retained a friendship between Zayed and Aish's characters after Sanjay's admission into the asylum/psychiatric hospital. I think that in real life, the Zayed character would have stood by her and helped her through that time. From the very beginning, Zayed was attracted to her because he could see sadness in her eyes - he knew that something was wrong, even before she did - and his sole mission was to see her smile and laugh ... so, surely he would help her at the end ...is that not so ???

He wrote that he would descend into madness - where and how did you get that part because it was not there at all. But it's a good idea.

reply

Shaukhat says that he will go mad if the last page is not found, because he needs to change the end. And Antara also says that I hope that the end that talks about your end does not come true.

reply

And after Shaukhat loses his mind, it is indicated he wrote this.
