Why the boat?

it seems to me this would a disordered way and you wouldn't totally sure that he would die on the boat.

I have never seen the original ands will see if I can get it. I caught this one on Netflix.

I did enjoy the film and I'm surprised more people didn't like the film.

Hi,
Though Camille grew up near a river, he was a sickly child and hence probably never learnt to swim. The boat gave them a chance to drown him.

This film is based on Emile Zola's Thérese Raquin.
And in the book it's the same. They took Camille out on the boat.

Maybe because they thought a drowning would be more plausable considering how Camille was in such fragile health And it would seem like such a tragic accident. No one would suspect murder. The "accident" happening on such an ordinary day traveling with friends. Other methods would perhaps have been harder to come up with a story.
