The Trailer for this Movie (possible spoilers)

Like many I guessed the twist to this film very early on.

Now I'm not here to boast how clever I am or to add yet another comment deriding the film and/or its twist. I'm here to add a quick comment/observation on the trailer for this film.

The trailer I saw prior to seeing this film in the movies contained a quote from a media source in the voiceover which said "the greatest twist ending since The Usual Suspects" or words to those effect.

Leaving to one side the accuracy of that statement, it seems very dubious to me that the trailer should contain such a revealing statement. The reference to the Usual Suspects is key because it suggests a twist at the end that turns everything you have just seen and head. Once I knew this, the only reasonable conclusion I could draw was that the agents were the killers.

Films with twist endings have become so commonplace now that we tend to look for them regardless of whether or not we know a twist is coming. Putting a massive flag is a good way to ruin the ending of the film.

I'm not saying that there weren't other flaws in relation to how the twist was set up but this certainly eliminated any chance of a surprise.
