My opinion

I predicted the twist of this movie nearly immediately but I think that actually worked in its favor. It is Hitchcock's principle of suspense. Show the audience the bomb under the table and let them sweat when it's going to go boom. I got a morbid fascination out of knowing where it was headed and waiting for the inevitable to reveal itself. Being able to predict a twist does not denote a weak story. I felt the same way about Shutter Island. I knew the twist just from the trailer but I found the finished product to be superb and, in knowing the truth, it made it even more unnerving to watch. I loved Bill Pullman's over-the-top performance because it was quite entertaining. Perfectly decent film to me.
