How bad is Bill Pullman in this

He's just horrible. And not so much in a fun over-the-top way Nic Cage can be. He just delivers such a horrific, hammy performance.

reply

He's crap as a bad guy. Not really believable

reply

I concur. It was hard to sit through his performance.

reply

Wow, you would actually take Nicolas Cage over this? You're bonkers.

2 best actors? sure i like Cage and so does his audience. He makes alot of movies and is an overall popular actor. But Bill Pullman on the other hand... Beside this movie I havent seen him since Independence day where he played the president. I liked his performance in that movie, but what other movies has he done? You cant say hes one of the best actors when he dont star in any big screen movies. If he would be one of the best he would get hired alot more, simple.

And i do believe his acting in this movie sucked. Sometimes when he made these crazy sounds and laughs I didnt know what to think. Overall bad performance.

reply

i blame his bad acting in this film on the director.

reply

I wholeheartedly agree. He can do psycho. Just not Lynch psycho.

reply

I too suspect an age thing going on here...
Hey about about Zero Effect?

reply

I thought, when he allowed his evil to show to everyone in the last room, he was kinda creepy. I am a bit new to having the "eye" in determining whether actors are truly good, or if i simply like them but I thought he did it well.

reply

You people can't look past his good guy roles? sheesh.

reply

He is a bad actor going by this role.

reply

I liked him, as always.

reply

What film were you watching? Bill Pullman was amazing in this! Open your eyes, this is not the big blockbuster *beep* your used to. It has dialogue and acting in it!!

reply

He was certainly no Frank Booth.

reply

I thought he was great in it. His rant towards the end was mesmerising, real gonzo-stuff just like the rest of the film.

I like Bill Pullman in general but this role was really so over the top that it got in the way of the film. Not one of his better roles.

reply

I thought he was trying to do a dennis hopper. Then I learnt of the Lynch connections.

I thought Ormond was worse. absolutely zero believable.
what's more frightening than his performance (I thought he was OK) is, how much he looks like Paul Heaton from The Housemartins/The Beautiful South...
