Saw on Netflix

Just picked this movie out on Netflix and watched with 2 ChineseAm families and teen children, we liked it. Seemed interested in who they would end up pairing with whom. Too bad about the criticism about matching Asian cinderella with caucasian Prince Charming, but most western movies with Asian characters are made with Caucasian leads to bring in the Western audience, and this Asian filmmaker evidently isn't straying from this historical formula either although we were cheering at times to get back with the BD Wong character, in the end there are two couples matched. I paid to see many of the Asian American movies of the 1980s, and disappointed to find that this movie only had distribution to limited cities for movie theaters, but good that it's being offered on Netflix. Asian Americans and Americans in general should patronize more movies like this if they are really interested in diversity and giving everybody's stories a fair shot. The original Outsourced movie is a somewhat similar white-guy meets asian (well Indian) girl that I saw on Netflix as well, but that got made into a TV series not without its own controversy.
