It is a ride in Universal Studios Hollywood...It's the biggest new attraction there and they've been billing it for months...it's taking over the old E.T. ride in the backlot

Its also at Universal Studios FLORIDA too. It took over the King Kong attraction. I have all the details one of the other threads.

If its a ride than why are the actors credited?

reply

The actors are credited because their voices appear in different places in the ride. Most Universal Studios rides are more like 'experiences' where there's entertainment while you're waiting in line as well as on the ride itself.

I went to the Mummy Ride today and I thought it was pretty cool, and when I was making the line, I saw a poster that said NOW IN PRODUCTION, does that mean there's a movie???!!!!

reply

It's just a ride. Not a movie i think. I went on the ride when it first came out. When the doors opened to Universal Studios everyone started making their way through The Mummy Ride. But it took a long time to get there cuz of those stairs and escalators. The ride was pretty short. It was ok. I saw the people setting up the red carpet for the celebrities the day before it came out. It was pretty cool. There were news cameras and everything.

reply

"Those stairs and escalators" are called "CitiWalk"...

reply

No, they aren't. The stairs and escalators that lead to the lower lot are called the "Starway." CityWalk is the shopping/dining/frivolous spending of money district outside of the park.

I <3 the Hard Rock Cafe at the CitiWalk. All the memorabilia they have like fits my definition of cool.

reply

Its CITYWALK not CITIWALK, you spell City with a Y not I.
Thank you,

the reason because it saids NOW IN PRODUCTION on the poster because while your waiting in line it's apart of the ride, Universal was trying to make it seem like you were on the set of the new mummy movie

(this is not real there is new mummy movie being made)
the journey begins as you enter the Museum of Antiquities, well it's not really a museum but the set of the new movie, while your waiting in line you see camaras, movie lights, story boards, and the costumes, while waiting in line you watch a video, like a documentry about how movie is made and stuff, but some weird things have happened on the set and some believe there actually is a curse while others don' believe in it, in the video (i think i wasn't paying attention) they introduce reggie a member of the movie crew, apparently there have been actual archaeoligists that have found artifacts (while i was in line i had no clue what was supposed to be an artifact and was part of the movie) and all this tomb raiding has made Imotep mad, now your in the second floor and you can clearly see a huge state of Anubis hanging from ropes, now you board the idustrial carts and there are two mummies one reggie the movie crew guy and Imotep, reggie tells you that the curse is real and that you have to get out while Imotep saids that with your souls he will rule for an eternity. of course more things happen than just this but you have to ride it find out (don't worry i didn't say anything that happens in the ride, it's only the beginning)

the reason the actors and movie crew are credited because they were in the movie that they play throught out the lines and one in the end of the ride where Brendan Fraser wants a cup of coffee,

it's pretty long, (sorry)i had to ride a few times to understand the whole plot

ps if you ride the ride scream as loud as you can (it scared me when i was in line, i thought it was more like a show than a ride, it adds excitement)

There is a little movie that plays on TVs while you are waiting in line for the ride - thats what its talking about - not the actual ride itself. The short film basically just sets up the ride - talking about the "Mummy's Curse" and how weird things would go on while they were filming. It was really funny - probably the best part about the ride.
