CONFIRMED: Hollywood brought the remake rights for Windstruck

http://www.twitchfilm.net/archives/005326.html

It says:
"That Hollywood loved Jeon Ji-Hyun -- or at least her films -- is something we knew already. Ever since her role in Kwak Jae-Yong's 2001 romcom (My Sassy Girl), Hollywood companies have bought remake rights for three of her films, also including the 2000 melodrama (Il Mare) and 2004's (Windstruck). Well, now you can add a fourth film to the list: Andrew Lau's Daisy)."

not a good idea

Over 100000 IMDb users says that "popeinnocentyears" is a jackass....

cornholioTP,

>>>>>>>>>Hollywood is such a fag<<<<<<<<<<

You cracked me up with this, I'm just greatful I wasn't drinking any milk or it woulda' shot right outta' my nose and maybe would've caused a "Final Destination" moment.

But seriously now, It's really not enought that they are currently filming "My Sassy Girl" 2007, but they bought the rights for Daisy and Windstruck too? I haven't even seen "Daisy", and it hasn't been established that MSG-2007 is even going to be any good in North America. How can they do this? Don't they know that Windstruck is commonly regarded in Korea as MSG-2? (even though it's clearly not) It's actually ironic if you think of it, most of the Korean people I spoke to mentioned once in a while that North America is about a step behind, and now, they finally fell in love with Jeon-Ji-Hyun here, after 5 years, while in Korea her popularity is decreasing dramatically. (She is extremely popular in Japan and China though.)

Remaking successful, good Korean movies to please the US market is a bad idea enough, but why Hollywood would bother remaking such a boring, un-funny movie like Windstruck is beyond me.

reply

No.NO.NO and NO. God damnit, if they ruin all those movies i'm going to have to choke a #@%#%@

Jeez, Hollywood sure knows how to screw up good things these days. Ju-on sucked, Lake House sucked, My sassy girl is going to suck. Not only remakes are screwed but good books as well. Eragon blew hugely. Way to go.

@red_star Windstruck was obviously a good movie to a large majority of people. If it weren't then a remake would not be done.

i agree with you hollywood messes everything up but who can seriously play those roles and be good there messing with a prefect korean movie which we all know will not be good when hollywood makes it

The american remake of windstruck and my sassy girl will suck the life out of these two beautiful films..you know why???? Simply because there is no Jeon ji Hyun in any of these remakes. I don't know about her popularity decreasing in Korea but for sure she is a widely renowned actress.. probably too popular internationally that somehow she displace her korean fans..
