Korean tear-jerkers

I watched 200 Pound Beauty, My Sassy Girl and The Classic. they were fun and enjoyable movies but I didn't cry much.

Windstruck, however, had me sobbing for a long while. Any recommendations for movies as sad as/sadder than Windstruck?

Old post, but for future reference look at "49 Days" "A Thousand Days Promise", and "1 Litre of Tears" (Japanese series and movie).

And "Sad movie", "A moment to remember"

I've watched dozens of Korean movies. I was bored one night, nothing on tv, browsing internet and came across a film festival. So i thought lets watch what won the film festival. I was blown away. So i watched 2 more movies. again just wowed by the quality, acting production etc of what i found. Stunned at this whole new world i never knew existed. SO i googled "best korean movie" and somehow ended up with Jewel in teh palace. Jewel in the palace is in comparable with anything hollywood has ever turned out. It is a 54 hour fictional historical epic based on a real person in history. SO i started with korean movies and moved on to what are commonly called Kdrama's. To me kdramas are just movies that last anywhere from 4 hours to 100+ hours. Some of them are so good they suck you out of your world and into theirs for a whirlwind ride. I watched them till i dropped.. woke up.. and watched them till i dropped. When it ended i spent a day or two in a daze as i tried to get back to my own world time and life. One Kdrama is called "stairway to heaven". drink lots of water so you dont dehydrate from the tears! I spent hours crying thru that one. It's a 16 hour classic. It is one of my all time favorites for the big or little screen. NOBODY beats the Koreans for melodrama's.. NOBODY! In fact the earlier kdrama's (around 2000-2004)a lot of them had sad endings. I think the fans threatened their lives so they started at some point to have some happy endings. Another drama is "august in my heart" or "winter sonata" or "snow queen" You don't know what tears are .. till you have seen a few kdrama's!
